Papal Audience

Papal Audience

Yes, I took this picture, and no, I didn’t zoom in. Today, I woke up at 6:30 am to head to the Vatican. My first class that I was supposed to have was rescheduled, so we planned to do this instead. We had tickets to the Papal Audience, where Pope Francis (or Papa Francisco) would come around on his Pope Mobile, kiss some children, and bless the audience after a reading. This started at 10am, but we showed up when the doors opened to ensure a good seat. Not only were we in the 7th row (we could have gotten 2nd row, but we knew we wanted a barricade seat for when the Pope entered. We all got outer aisle seats, along the barricade, and when the Pope came around, he made eye contact with us, waved, and he was maybe 5 feet away from us. Such a cool experience. What did you do before class today?
